In Sun and Moon, several Kantonian Pokemon were given regional variants for Alola. Galar has a similar feature, although it has Pokemon not just from Kanto. Many of them have new evolution methods.
Galarian Farfetch’d, which is a Fighting type as well, needs to land 3 critical hits in one battle to evolve. While this may sound difficult, the Leek item raises its critical hit ratio. Wild Farfetch’d have a 50% chance of holding this item.
Galarian Darumaka is now an Ice type, so to evolve, it needs an Ice Stone to evolve. If you’re wondering, Galarian Darmanitan still has a Zen Mode form. Instead of being a Fire/Psychic type, it is now a Fire/Ice type, which is unique to it.
Galarian Yamask is now a Ground/Ghost type. For it to evolve, it needs to have less than half of its HP. After that is done, simply walk under the stone sculpture in the Dusty Bowl wild area. If you’re having a difficult time getting less than half of Yamask’s HP either because it keeps fainting or not taking enough damage, just give it a Focus Sash. Once you do that, send it into battle with a much higher leveled Pokemon. Yamask would normally get OHKO’d, but because of the Focus Sash, it will endure the hit with 1 hit point. After that, run from the battle.
