Best Shield Team: Grookey Chosen

The best team for Sword with any of the starters will be different for the same team in Shield. This is mainly because two sets of gym leaders are different. Bea, a Fighting type gym leader, is instead replaced by Allister, a Ghost type gym leader. Gordie, a Rock type gym leader, is instead replaced by Melony, an Ice type gym leader. All the other gym leaders are the same. Instead of getting a Cutiefly for Milo’s team, instead for a Stunky on Route 3. Stunky’s evolution is part Dark type, which will be more useful than a Fairy type for Allister’s gym. You should still get a Binacle in Galar Mine No. 2 for Kabu. For Allister, you should also get a Durant and a Ground type on Route 6. You can use Durant for Mimikyu and Stunky for everything else. You can use Durant or your Ground type for Opal’s Weezing, your Ground type for Mawile, and Binacle or Durant for Togekiss. You should get a Gurdurr on Route 8. You can use Gurdurr for Melony’s Eiscue, Binacle for Frosmoth and Darmanitan, and either Gurdurr or Binacle for Lapras. For Piers, use Gurdurr type for Obstagoon and Scrafty, Durant for Malamar, and your Ground type for Skuntank. For Raihan, use Durant for his Flygon, Gurdurr for Duraludon, your Ground type for Gigalith, and Grookey for Sandaconda.
