Sword and Shield released its first DLC expansion pass known as the Isle of Armor. One of the new additions was a Galarian form for Slowpoke. The main two differences is that Galarian Slowpoke can have Gluttony instead of Oblivious as one of its regular abilities and that it is a pure Psychic type instead of being a Water/Psychic type. However, Galarian Slowbro has more differences between it and Kantonian Slowbro. First off, Galarian Slowbro is a Poison/Psychic type instead of a Water/Psychic type. This type combination is unique to it. Second, if you evolve a Galarian Slowpoke with the Gluttony ability, it will instead change to a new ability called Quick Draw. This ability functions the same way as the item Quick Claw, as both of them allow the user to attack first if it was going to be outsped by the opponent. This is a useful ability for Slowbro because it has a 30 base speed, which means it will be outsped by most Pokemon. The third difference is how to evolve Slowpoke. For Kantonian Slowpoke, it needs to be at least level 37 in order for it to evolve by level up. However, Galarian Slowpoke needs an item known as a Galarica Cuff to be used on it to evolve. In order to make one, you need to collect 8 items known as Galarica Twigs, which can be found throughout the Isle of Armor underneath trees. If you collect 8 of them and bring them to an NPC in the Workout Sea (location in the Isle of Armor), she will make one for you.
