Charmander is a melee all-rounder. Its basic attack can never be boosted, but it is able to move while using it. Additionally, it is worth mentioning this attack deals extra damage if the opponent is burnt, which many of this character’s moves are capable of. Burns It has a choice of Fire Spin and Flame Burst. The first move affects a small area but deals continuous damage as well as slows down any Pokemon inside. The other move deals a decent amount of damage but also burns the opponent for a short period of time. Burns are functionally no different from poison in the sense that they both deal damage even after they are no longer being directly affected by an attack. At level 5, Charmander evolves into Charmeleon and Flame Burst gets replaced with Fire Punch or Flamethrower. Both moves are capable of dealing damage and burning, but the first pushes back opponents while the other additionally increases your movement speed for a short period of time. At level 7, Fire Spin gets replaced with Flare Blitz or Fire Blast. Neither of these moves burn, but the first gives Charmeleon a shield whilst being used, while the other is a much larger and powerful version of Fire Spin. At level 9, Charmeleon evolves into Charizard and learns the Unite Move Seismic Slam. The initial part of this move only affects a single opponent, and missing it will cause you to be unable to use it immediately afterwards. If it does land, it deals massive damage to the target. Afterwards, you are able to freely move over walls and you get the unstoppable status condition. This means that you do not flinch from attacks, although you still take damage from them. You are only able to use your basic attack during this time, but it deals more damage and burns opponents. Finally, whenever you deal damage, you recover some of your HP. At level 11, Flamethrower deals more damage (in addition to the attack increase from leveling up) and Fire Punch’s cooldown of 6 seconds will reduce every time a basic attack hits. At level 13, Fire Blast will deal more damage (again, in addition to the attack increase from leveling up) and Flare Blitz will slow down opponents if they are hit. This character also has an ability Blaze, which activates when it is at half its HP or less. The chance of its critical hit ratio will increase as long as it is active.
