Lucario is a melee all-rounder, whose basic attack is boosted every third use that also throws opponents into the air. It has a choice of two moves, Meteor Mash and Quick Attack. The first pushes opponents, while the other is a fast lunge. At level 5, Quick Attack gets replaced with Extreme Speed or Power Up Punch. The first restores HP if it lands, and if you land it close to the opponent, you can use it again immediately afterwards. At level 7, Meteor Mash gets replaced with Bone Rush or Close Combat. The first leaves opponents unable to act for a short period of time, and the last bone will stay in the ground briefly. If used during this time, Lucario will appear next to this bone. The other decreases movement but increases attack and decrease damage received. This deals more damage the lower the defender’s HP is. The move’s cooldown is also reduced for each successful hit. Finally, the next basic attack is guaranteed to result in a critical hit. Close Combat works similarly to Machamp’s, but it also pushes opponents. At level 9, Lucario learns it Unite Move Aura Cannon. This move fires a large blast in a specified direction, dealing massive damage to any opponents that it hits. At level 11, Extreme Speed will increase Lucario’s attack briefly, and Lucario will become immune to hindrances while using Power Up Punch. At level 13, Lucario’s move cooldowns will be reset if you retrieve the bone, and it will gain a shield when using Close Combat. Lucario’s ability is Steadfast, which grants it a shield and increases its movement speed at low health.
