Marill is a melee all-rounder that specializes in physical attack. Every third use of its basic attack will result in boosted damage and have more range. It has a choice of two moves: Tackle and Bubble. Tackle works similarly to Skwovet’s, except instead of decreasing the opponent’s speed, it leaves them unable to act for a short period of time. Bubble deals damage in a cone, slowing down any Pokemon hit. At level 5, it evolves into Azumarill and replaces Tackle with either Whirlpool or Aqua Tail. The first creates a ring of whirlpools around Azumarill, which deals damage to any opponents that touch one. The user will restore HP every time one lands, and it will be more if the hit Pokemon is an opponent. The second does not deal damage but it does increase the area of effect and attack speed of the next three basic attacks. At level 7, Bubble gets replaced with either Play Rough or Water Pulse. This increases the user’s movement speed and buffs the next basic attack; it will deal more damage and leave them unable to act for a short period of time. The other will decrease the movement speed of any Pokemon it hits, and any nearby Pokemon will take damage as well. The blast of water will bounce to the next opponent if one is close enough, and it will do this up to three times. At level 9, it learns its Unite Move Belly Bash. This gives Azumarill a shield and increased attack. While using the initial part of this move, Pokemon will be thrown into the air but not take damage. The last part of this move, however, will deal damage. At level 11, Whirlpool will have a shorter cooldown and restore more HP, and using basic attacks when Aqua Tail is active will reduce the cooldown of its other move. At level 13, Play Rough will have a shorter cooldown and make Azumarill a little faster, and Water Pulse can hit up to five opponents. This character has the ability Huge Power, which guarantees that if it is only attacking a single Pokemon, its moves will always be critical hits. However, if it is attacking multiple, they will never be critical hits.
