Goomy is a ranged defender. Its ability, Gooey, allows it to occasionally spread slime around itself whenever it’s struck with an attack. This slime deals damage and applies a slowing effect, which can stack up to four times. Also, it can restore HP quicker when in tall grass, but it goes on cooldown after a set amount of time or if it exits the grass. It basic attack becomes boosted every third use or if it has recovered HP from its ability. Boosted attacks also spew slime, which either slows opponents at long range or deals increased damage at close range. Hitting an opponent who is affected by slime with a basic attack reduces the cooldown of its moves. It has a choice of two initially, either Bubble or Tackle. The first grants Goomy a shield, and if it’s used again or after a set amount of time, the bubble will pop, slowing down any nearby opponents. The other is similar to Swinub’s Tackle, but if it lands, Goomy will bounce back a little. At level 5, Goomy evolves into Sliggoo, and Bubble gets replaced with either Dragon Pulse or Muddy Water. The first has Sliggoo send a shock wave in a designated direction. Any opponent hit in the center takes more damage, and Sliggoo will recover some HP. Sliggoo also recovers HP if the struck opponents have slime on them. The other has Sliggoo splash water around itself that reduces the amount of damage any hit opponents deal. Additionally, using this will increase Sliggoo’s defenses for a brief period of time, which can stack up to four. At level 7, Tackle gets replaced with either Acid Spray or Power Whip. The first works similarly to Ivysaur’s Sludge Bomb, except it only slows down opponents but also marks them. Additionally, it can be used again to have Sliggoo charge towards an opponent. If they are marked, they will be thrown into the air. The other decreases movement speed from a distance and pulls them closer to Sliggoo. At level 8, it evolves into Goodra, and at level 9, it learns the Unite Move Right as Rain. This causes rain to fall near Goodra, which continually restores its HP, and makes all its basic attacks boosted. At level 11, Dragon Pulse restores more HP if the center of the shock wave hits an opponent with a gooey effect, and the defensive buffs from Muddy Water increase. At level 13, Power Whip and Acid Spray will apply a gooey effect.
