Pokemon Unite: Lapras

Lapras is a ranged defender, whose basic attack will be boosted every third use, and heals it if it lands. It has a choice of two moves: Ice Shard and Whirlpool. The first has Lapras launch chunks of ice that can freeze opponents they connect with, while the other surrounds Lapras with a vortex of water that deals damage to any opponent that enters it. At level 5, Whirlpool gets replaced with either Water Pulse or Perish Song. The first is similar to Whirlpool, although it only releases one wave rather than having a long-lasting one. However, it decreases movement speed to any opponent hit, and landing one will allow Lapras to send out up to two additional pulses the next time it’s used and guarantees Lapras’s next basic attack is boosted. The other can be used up to three times in a row within around 8 seconds, and landing all three on the same Pokemon deals additional damage. This move has the special effect of knocking out any Pokemon hit by it if their HP has fallen below a certain percentage (similar to Tyranitar’s Unite Move). At level 7, Ice Shard gets replaced with either Ice Beam or Bubble Beam. The first is a beam that deals damage to hit opponents and frosts the ground in front of Lapras. Any opponent that walks across this ice will take damage and have their movement speed decreased (similar to Blastoise’s Water Spout). Additionally, they will freeze if they stay on it for too long. The other grants Lapras a shield while blowing bubbles to damage to opponents. The bubbles will float around if they do not hit anything, and any opponent who gets too close to them will be enveloped by them and left unable to act briefly. At level 9, Lapras gets its Unite Move Lapras Express, which increases Lapras’s movement speed and allows it to crash into an opponent to deal decent damage and throw them in the air. The move can be ended prematurely, in which case, Lapras will skid to a stop but a wave will be sent forward from where it stops, which has the same effect as it slamming into them. Lapras can also choose to transport a nearby ally Pokemon with them, who can then choose to disembark whenever they choose. At level 11, Water Pulse maxes out at three pulses instead of two, and after using Perish Song, the next basic attack is boosted. At level 13, Ice Beam can freeze opponents for longer, and Bubble Beam’s shield will be more durable. Lapras’s ability is Shell Armor, which reduces the damage from a single blow if it exceeds a certain percentage of its max HP.
