Rosalina and Luma, otherwise known as the “Cosmic Travelers”, are from the Super Mario spinoff game Super Mario Galaxy. Rosalina and Luma are technically a duo. However, Luma’s actions are dependent on what Rosalina is doing. Luma attacks when Rosalina is attacking. However, it can do nothing else besides attack. Although these two are a powerful duo, Luma is what makes Rosalina a powerful character. Luma can take damage just like any other character. However, if he takes too much damage or gets launched too far, it can be defeated. Don’t worry, though, as Rosalina can still be a powerful fighter without Luma, and it will respawn after a while or if Rosalina gets defeated as well. The new Luma will have 0% damage. Unfortunately, Luma’s damage is not shown on the screen and it is impossible for him to recover damage. I will be analyzing Rosalina’s first set of special moves.
Her neutral special is Luma Shot. This move is useless if Luma is not present on the battlefield. This move can deal between 15% and 16% damage if fully charged. Once Rosalina starts charging, it is impossible for her to stop unless she gets damaged. This move can technically be charged forever, but after a point, charging is useless. The charge cannot be held onto, so once it’s charging, you have to fire it. This move not only deals damage, but it technically makes Luma independent of Rosalina. He will not have to be near Rosalina, but his attacks will be controlled by Rosalina. Using this move again will call back Luma so it can be fired again.
Her side special is Start Bits. This move can deal about 9% damage, considering all three hits land. However, this move is also useless if Luma is not present.
Her up special is Launch Star. This move deals absolutely no damage, and is instead mainly just used for recovery.
Her down special is Gravitational Pull. This move also deals absolutely no damage as well. Instead, it makes Rosalina a projectile and item magnet. Projectiles launched or items thrown at Rosalina will deal absolutely no damage. Projectiles will disappear completely, while items will just be pulled closer to her.
If you had a Luma for a pet, what would you name it?
