Mega Man, otherwise known as the Blue Metal Hero, is making his first appearance in the Smash series. Alongside Pac-Man, he is another third party character. There is one other that I will be talking about in my next post. If you played Brawl, you will probably know who that is. I will be analyzing Mega Man’s first set of special moves.
His neutral special is Metal Blade. This move throws a metal blade. The default is directly in front of you, but it can be thrown in any of the other seven directions if you press that on the directional pad. This move is rather weak, only dealing about 3% damage. However, if it hits the ground and you use it as an item, then it will deal 2% damage more. Your opponents can do this as well. This move can be pocketed or reflected.
His side special is Crash Bomber. This move is almost the exact same as a Sticky Bomb, except it deals less damage.
His up special is Rush Coil. This move spawns Rush, Mega Man’s robotic dog. It deals no damage and is mainly for recovery. It can be used twice before disappearing. The second time it is used will give you more height than the first jump. Your opponents can it as well.
His down special is Leaf Shield. This move spawns four leaves around Mega Man that can block projectiles. They can also damage opponents who hit them. It will disappear eventually, so you might want to throw it before it does that.
