Pokemon X and Y: Diggersby

Bunnelby, also known as the Digging Pokemon, is the generic normal type Pokemon of this generation. In every generation so far, there has been a generic normal type Pokemon. These Pokemon are primarily Normal type and found early on in the game. They evolve at a low level, and only have one evolution. In the first generation, we had Rattata. Then there was Sentret, Zigzagoon, Bidoof, and Patrat. These Pokemon were all complete Normal type until Bidoof. Bidoof is a Normal type, but when it evolves into Bibarel, it becomes a Water type as well. Bunnelby and its evolution, Diggersby, are similar to this. Bunnelby is a Normal type, but when it evolves into Diggersby, it becomes a Ground type. Diggersby is the same species as its pre-evolution. So how is Diggersby?

For a generic Normal type evolution, Diggersby is not too bad. It has a unique typing. It is a good Pokemon to use against Clemont, the fifth Gym leader in Kalos, since he uses Electric type Pokemon. It has Pickup, so it can give you interesting items along your adventure. Cheek Pouch isn’t terribly useful, but it’s hidden ability is an alternative. Huge Power makes this heavy hitter even stronger. Pickup is nice, but it has no real competitive use. Overall, Diggersby is a good Pokemon to have. If you plan on starting a Kalos adventure, be sure to capture a Bunnelby.

Fun Fact: Some people think Diggersby looks like the Nesquik mascot.
