Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield News (Part 4)

Nintendo has revealed more information about the upcoming Pokemon games for the Nintendo Switch. Three new Pokemon were revealed, a new feature, as well as two new gym leaders.

Alcremie is a Fairy type Pokemon with the ability Sweet Veil. Duraludon is a Steel/Dragon Pokemon with either the ability Light Metal or Heavy Metal. Rolycoly is a Rock type Pokemon with either the ability Heatproof or the new ability Steam Engine, which raises your speed by 3 stages if it is hit with a Fire or Water type move.

Gigantamax is a new form for certain Pokemon. Alcremie, Corviknight, and Drednaw have these forms. They can gain these forms only if the Pokemon was caught during a raid battle. Each of them get a unique G-Move. Alcremie’s is called Max Finale, and it heals all Pokemon on your side while also dealing Fairy type damage to the opponent. Corviknight’s is called Max Wind Rage, which deals Flying type damage and essentially has the same effect as Brick Break (removes Light Screen and Reflect), Rapid Spin (clears entry hazards like Sticky Web, Stealth Rock, Toxic Spikes, and Spikes), and Splintered Stormshards (removes any type of terrain). Drednaw’s is called Max Stonesurge, which not only deals Rock type damage, but sets up Stealth Rock as well.

The Deino and Jangmo-o lines are exclusive to Sword, whereas the Larvitar and Goomy lines are exclusive to Shield. Also, depending on what version you’re playing, at least one of the gym leaders will be different. In Sword, one of the gym leaders is Bea, a Fighting type gym leader who uses a Hitmontop. In Shield, this gym leader is instead a Ghost type user named Allister who uses a Mimikyu.

  1. Renowned criticizer of blogposts, back at it again to tell you that this is a much needed improvement from last time. I feel the information shared goes further into the range of information most readers wouldn’t know after hearing the news, which is an amazing step. It shares topics that go into competitive, gameplay, and internal and external information, which overall leads to a much more expansive writing segment. Great job, and can’t wait to read more!
