Pokemon Ranger

Pokémon Ranger is a game that features you in a world of Pokémon. Everything is pretty much the same except you don’t use poke balls: you use a capture styler, which is a device that temporarily lets you use Pokémon. These Pokémon can be used for helping you catch other Pokémon. In this world, everyone’s happy, because Pokémon aren’t forced to battle under their will forever. Sure, in other Pokémon games you can release your Pokémon, but will you ever see that Pokémon again? No. But in Pokémon Ranger, if you release or use a Pokémon it runs away and goes back right to the place you found it. For instance, if I caught a Swablu in one area that had a total of 5 Swablu , there would only be 4 Swablu left, but once I used Swablu or released him, when I went back to the area where I first found the Swablu, all 5 Swablu would be there. Anyway, it seems all nice, right? It is, but then someone decided he wanted control of the entire region (which was called Fiore). He went and stole power from capture stylers and puts it into his capture styler, making it easier for him to catch Pokémon. Eventually, he captures the legendary beasts Raikou, Entei and Suicune. He says he will use these beasts under his control to wreak havoc on Fiore so that everyone will bow to him as their new leader. Your main mission is to capture all three beasts using the help of your Pokémon with your capture styler. Although these Pokémon will run away once you use them, there is a Pokémon that will never leave you, no matter how many times you use it. In the beginning of the game, you get a Starter Pokémon that will never leave you and will assist you throughout your journey. This Pokémon is entirely dependent on the gender of your character. If you’re male, you get Minun. If you’re female, you’ll get Plusle. There are 10 main missions and 3 sub-missions in this game. The best part about this game if that you can get a special egg that you can’t get anywhere else: The Manaphy Egg. This egg has a Manaphy inside, which is a Pokémon you can’t find anywhere else. The egg is found on one of the sub-missions (not available anymore)  and if you connect your Pokémon Ranger game with your Diamond, Pearl, or Platinum game, you can get the egg and hatch Manaphy. Also, if you breed Manaphy with a Ditto, you’ll get ANOTHER special Pokémon you can’t get anywhere else: Phione. In conclusion, this game is fun (even though I can’t beat it). It’s challenging, exciting, and it’s a great addition to the Pokémon games.
