Donkey Kong, otherwise known as the King of the Jungle, has been in the Smash Bros series since the original game. He was Mario’s (or should I say, Jumpman’s) first enemy. In the original Donkey Kong game, Donkey Kong took Princess Peach (or should I say, Pauline). Jumpman then took on the role of rescuing her. Since then, Bowser has taken Donkey Kong’s place as being Mario’s main enemy. The two are good friends. I will be analyzing Donkey Kong’s first set of special moves.
His neutral special is Giant Punch. Uncharged, this move can deal 10% damage. It will deal an additional 2% damage for every time he winds up his arm, with him being able to deal 28% damage once it is fully charged. The move does not have to be used immediately and the charge can be held. The charge resets completely if Donkey Kong is knocked out, however.
His side special is Headbutt. This move buries opponents if he hits them with this attack on the ground. It can deal 8% or 10% damage.
His up special is Spinning Kong. This move hits repeatedly for light damage. It does not carry Donkey Kong very high, but it definitely can carry him a good distance left or right.
His down special is Hand Slap. This move has a wide range and can deal 14% per hit. It should be used on the ground, however. Using it in the air has a meteor smash effect on anyone who is near his hands, but it is pretty useless otherwise.
