Ryu, otherwise known as the Tireless Wanderer, is a third party DLC character from the Street Fighter series. He is the first DLC character to not be a Nintendo character or a veteran. I will be analyzing his only set of special moves.
His neutral special is Hadoken. If you input the directions from the original game, this move will become better. It can be pocketed, reflected, or absorbed, however.
His side special is Tatsumaki Senpukyaku (Please don’t ask me how to pronounce that). If you input the directions from the original game, this move will become better. Mainly, the kicks hit harder and Ryu goes farther.
His up special is Shoryuken. If you input the directions from the original game, this move will become better. Mainly, the punch hits harder and Ryu goes higher.
His down special is Focus Attack. This move can be charged, but the move activates immediately after it is done charging. The direction can be changed as well. Ryu can take one hit while charging this attack before he stops charging. If it is fully charged and it lands, the opponent will fall to their knees. Otherwise, it will just launch them as normal. Uncharged, this move deals about 12% damage. Fully charged, it deals about 17% damage.
Fun Fact: Ryu is the only third party character who cannot wall jump.
